Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Tamil Nadu on 26 July and 27 July, which is soon after returning from the state tour in the UK and Maldives. Around 8 am on July 26, the Prime Minister will be in Tuttikorin, where he will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate, and dedicate to the nation, which will dedicate several development projects collectively at a price of more than 4,800 crores.
The initiative expands the infrastructure of wind, road, rail, port and electricity. Modi will inaugurate a new terminal building at the Tuticorin Airport constructed at a cost of around ₹ 450 crore. The feature of 17,340 square meters has the capacity to handle 1,350 passengers and 2 million passengers annually during peak hours.
The building includes LED lighting, energy system and a sewage treatment plant to support the reuse of water.
The Prime Minister will also dedicate two highway projects. The first is a four-leaning at a distance of 50 km from NH-36 between Sethiathop and Cholpuram, which has developed over 2,350 crores, under the Vikravandi-Thanjavur corridor.
The second project includes six -lening 5.16 km NH -138 near the Tuticorin port, which is almost almost. It has been built in 200 crores. These projects include bypass, bridges and underpasses for the purpose of improving regional connectivity and freight movement.
At the VO Chidambapurner port, Modi will inaugurate the North Cargo Birth -III, a feature with a 6.96 million metric tonnes per year cargo handling capacity, which is manufactured at a cost of ₹ 285 crore. The berth is expected to increase dried bulk cargo handling capacity.
Modi will also dedicate three railway infrastructure projects to the nation. These include electrification of 90 km Madurai-Bodinayakanur line, and Nagroil Town and Kanniakumari (21 km), Aralavayamoji-Negaroil Junction (12.87 km), and Tirunelveli-Malappalam (3.6 km).
Railway upgrade is expected to improve the capacity of passengers and freight in southern Tamil Nadu and strengthen the link with Kerala.
In the power sector, Prime Minister Kudankulam will lay the foundation stone for an inter-state transmission system to vacate power from units 3 and 4 of the atomic nuclear power plant (2×1000 MW).
The project of ₹ 550 crore includes 400 KV double-circuit transmission line, which connects Kudakulam to Tuticorin-II GIS substation.
Remembering Rajendra Chola
On July 27, Modi will participate in the Audi Thiruvathirai Festival at Gangikonda Cholpuram Temple in Tiruchirappalli at around 12 noon. The event marks the birth anniversary of Chola Emperor Rajendra Chola I and coincides with the 1,000 -year remembrance of its South East Asia campaign and the construction of Gangikonda Cholpuram Temple, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
During the ceremony, Modi will issue a memorial coin in honor of the emperor.
