
11094 Doctor, Paramedical Staff Trained in 3 years

Jammu, April 8: A total of 248 works under various schemes are currently being done to improve the health infrastructure of the region in Jammu and Kashmir.
These include 220 under consideration under UT Capex, 17 under NABARD, and 11 under PMDP/CSS schemes.

Sakina Itu, Minister of Health and Medical Education Department, shared this information in the Legislative Assembly today in response to a question-starring question by the Congress MLA from the Wagora-Carry Assembly segment, Irfan Hafiz Loan.
In addition, the minister said, under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (Abhim) of NHM, Critical Care Block (CCBS) is being constructed in each district, which is further strengthening secondary and tertiary care services.
For human resources and capacity building development, he said, the department is conducting various training programs on time. BMEOC, IMNCIA, SBA, NMHP, BLS, ALS, ERTC, RMNCH, HAME (YATRA), BEC, DRP training, so that skills can be increased among employees for better delivery of healthcare.
“So far, 11,094 doctors and paramedical staff/others have been trained during the last three years. In addition, 160 training/programs/workshops have also been organized under CSS,” Itu said.
While answering another question of the Congress MLA about the current doctor-rage ratio and the steps taken to improve the same in J&K, the minister replied that at present, a doctor is available in UT for 1,880 persons (1: 1880).
To improve the doctor-rage ratio, Itu said, the Department of Health and Medical Education is continuously referring to the posts of Medical Officer (S), Assistant Professor (S), which is for the recruitment agency. JKPSC.
“The Department of H&ME has recently appointed 365 medical officers, 105 assistant professors. In addition, for the complement of availability, the services of doctors/experts are benefited under the National Health Mission on a contractual basis.
The Minister of Health and Medical Education said, “So far, 96 experts, 418 Medical Officer (allopathic) and 874 Medical Officer (Age) are discharging their services throughout the UT of Jammu and Kashmir under the National Health Mission.
On the development related to the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) in the UT, Saqina Itu claimed that while three new AYUSH government medical colleges have been established in UT, 523 standalone Ayush Dispensary has also been upgraded as Ayushman Aogya Temple-Center (AYUSH Health and Wellness Center).
In addition, 36 new AYUSH dispensaries have been established under NAM in UT.
