AD Small Spaces: This 980-square-foot Mumbai home is a study of luxury and timeless innovation

“Personalised design and understanding each of our clients’ unique needs is at the core of Rise Design,” explains Shah. “Our forte lies with creating designs that stand the test of time, both in technical strength and creativity. We knew this project would align with the clients’ brief.” Light neutral tones, classic materials, and a design that promotes easy, practical living was what they desired—and is what Rise Design delivered.

Subtle design elements like wooden flutings, soft curves, and stone finishes add a layer of depth and creativity to the room.

From the outset, the Mumbai home is a careful curation of warm neutral tones, textured surfaces, and thoughtful design decisions. The entrance foyer opens up into the dining room—a striking statement of form and function. A full-length mirror lining a wall adds depth and dimension, while a curved accent on the low ceiling creates a cosy, cocoon-like atmosphere. “Rather than treating the dining area as merely functional, we wanted to elevate it and integrate it with the rest of the home,” Shah expresses.

In each bedroom, the wardrobes have been custom-designed according to the resident’s needs, warranting optimal efficiency in both aesthetics and functionality. They are minimal, sleek, and offer maximum storage. In this bedroom, the textured wall feature is by Asian Paints Textures.

Pops of colour enliven the neutral setting, with a rich jade-green tabletop and slate-grey arch definitions adding vibrancy. A wicker ceiling light, paired with embedded spotlights, softly illuminates the space, highlighting the textured walls and further enhancing the room’s welcoming feel. Concealed within these walls, a camouflaged door leads to utility spaces and a bedroom. “The hidden door reflects our philosophy of creating not just functional zones but pockets that allow you to stop and appreciate the design,” muses Shah.
