BRS warns real estate firms against taking part in Kancha Gachibowli land auction

The opposition BRS on Thursday warned the potential buyers of controversial 400 acres of land in Kanchbovali in Telangana that once the party returned to power, it would change the land into an Eco park instead of the IT park proposed by the Congress government. Former city administration and urban development minister KT Ram Rao said that Chandrashekhar Rao of BRS supremo has decided to develop it in an Eco Park after fighting against the sale of land and protecting its biodiversity and discussing with experts.

Addressing the media, Rao, who is also the Executive Chairman of BRS, said, “Once BRS came to power, we promise to dedicate the people of Hyderabad to Kancha Gachibovali and create the largest Eco Park for future generations. Any construction or development will not be allowed to preserve our natural beauty and ecological importance.” The proposed Eco Park will be developed on the lines of Central Park in Manhattan, USA.

Rao, known as KTR, also warned real estate companies against participating in the auction, saying that they will lose money if they invest in an inch land. “I appeal to the real estate companies that are watching this land once again. Please do not make a mistake with us later. We are clearly saying before time: Please do not participate in this auction. This land is of Hyderabad's future. Please do not buy an inch. If you invest money, you will lose it … This is KCR Garu's commitment.”

KTR further claimed that his decision was not about land or about generating employment, but was completely inspired by environmental concerns as it was the only green space in West Hyderabad and should be preserved. He also praised the students of Hyderabad Central University for extraordinary struggle against the state government and the police. He reiterated, “This is our promise for the people of Hyderabad. This is our promise for the agitating students of Hyderabad Central University.”

He also thanked the Supreme Court, which intervened in Suu Motu and stopped the fall of trees in Kanch Gachibovi. He said, “This is a win for the youth of the University of Hyderabad, whose inspirational and tireless struggle results in this positive decision.” Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged against BRS IT Cell-News, Farmers and Konam Dilip, to spread wrong information about the Hyderabad Central University and to incite students and protesters to provoke students and protesters.
