Lucknow: Homebuyers must ensure the builder and the project they are investing in are registered with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), experts cautioned at the Times Property Expo in the city, on Sunday. They said real estate sector may have become more transparent in recent years, customer awareness was essential to avoid fraud.
MI group director Syed Mohammad Qadir Ali, advised buyers to check whether builder was RERA-registered and funds were being deposited in RERA escrow account and that even after registration, if rules are violated, customers can lodge complaint.
COO of Eldeco Housing and Industries Ltd, S K Jaggi, said full compliance with RERA norms is a work in progress but has made the sector more accountable and system-driven, helping it gain buyer confidence.
General manager of Ekana Sports City, Wasif Ali Siddiqui, said, “Lucknow’s real estate offers excellent returns, improved infrastructure, new expressways and better connectivity in areas like Sultanpur Road, attracting investors from Kanpur, Bengaluru and Gujarat.
