Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Tuesday said its transportation infrastructure business vertical has won a significant contract for a road development project in Dubai, UAE, another addition to its international infrastructure portfolio.
As per the company’s internal order classification framework, L&T classifies the order as “significant”, indicating project value in the range of ₹1,000 crore to ₹2,500 crore.
The order pertains to Phase-1 of the Latifa Bint Hamdan Street Road Development Initiative launched by the UAE authorities.
The scope of work includes upgrading the road corridor between Emirates Road (E611) and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), including widening the existing two-lane dual carriageway to a four-lane dual carriageway in each direction to improve network capacity and traffic flow.
A key component of the project will be the construction of a major structural interchange on the E311, designed to enable uninterrupted traffic movement in all directions. The project also includes expanding the corridor with a new four-lane dual carriageway and developing a dedicated interchange to facilitate U-turn movements and improve connectivity to adjacent developments.
The project is targeted to be completed within 36 months.
