Nashik: Nashik municipal corporation (NMC) has issued notices for around 70 Developers And industrialists were originally assigned by the civil body to fail to maintain traffic islands within the city.
Under it corporate social responsibility (CSR) Initiative, NMC has developed a total of 100 traffic islands on one construction, development, repair and basis. The formal agreement, underlining the 10 -year maintenance period and royalty payment, was installed with these developers.
However, a significant number of these traffic islands is not being maintained adequately. As a result, NMC has given notices on 70 developers, demanding that they do the necessary repairs and maintenance as per their agreements.
An NMC official said that the attention of the civil administration is to keep the city clean and beautiful. “The administration wants to beautify the traffic islands in all the major choices of the city under CSR. Accordingly, the expression of interest floated about two to three years ago, and the traffic islands were handed over to the respective developers. The administration also signed agreements with these developers and private firms,” the official said.
“If developers fail to maintain them properly, we will keep them on our own. We have also asked them to pay the pending royalty,” the officer said.
