No construction scope near Old Goa heritage site: Rane | Goa News

Old Goa Heritage Site has no construction scope: night

Panaji: City and Country Plan (TCP) Minister Following Rane Announced the establishment of 200 meters buffer zone Around UNESCO-Lotid Heritage Site of Old Goa. “The buffer zone has already been mapped in the regional plan and notified,” he said.
“TCP never allowed construction in this buffer zone. Archaeological survey of india (ASI) or any other competent authority allows for a government project, this is a different case. But for private institutions, there is no scope for construction. These are conservation areas, and we should follow the appropriate process. ,
He further said that any development activity in these areas will have to be approved from ASI and other regulatory bodies. He also shared a plan to hold a Heritage Facilitation Center to promote tourism. New instructions come amid the legacy of Goa and increasing concerns over irregular construction and environmental erosion in ecological regions of the village.
“A buffer zone has been informed by me to protect heritage sites. What is needed to do within it, only ASI can only decide,” Ren said.
Along with heritage protection, the TCP Minister also said that the state government identified 3,557 survey numbers in Goa, where mangroves are to be protected, and data is being compiled. Final plan, he said, will be presented to Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav.
Rain said, “Mangrove and Salt PAN – both active and passive – will be declared conservation areas. We are going to take many new green initiatives in the coming days, and we will do it judiciously, with active public participation,” Rain said.
