Piyush Goyal urges construction industry to adopt best practices

New Delhi: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday urged the construction industry to adopt the best practices in stability, focus on clean and green construction, and work towards earthquake-resistant and modular infrastructure.

Addressing Capexil's vibrant Buildcon 2025 event, he said, “We should target for adventurous goals, ensure that our labor force gets proper wages, and make constant innovation. There is no doubt – India will lead the world in development, innovation and inclusive development.”

He said that vibrant Buildcon gives an example of the country's ability to support rapid urbanization, housing and logistics change for all.

The Union Minister said, “This platform shows the strength of our manufacturing and infrastructure, which is important to attract global investments and reduce logistics costs.”

He highlighted India's increasing strength in the construction ecosystem – from global capacity centers (GCCs) to domestic manufacturing under 'Make in India'.

He outlined the importance of major areas such as housing, infrastructure, commercial real estate, railways, airports, highways and energy.

“Every element, from cement and electrical equipment to security systems and automation, plays a role in this ecosystem,” the minister commented.

He further stated that a rapid infrastructure development took place under Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the concept of world class conference centers such as Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhumi, both were created during the epidemic.

He said, “These state -of -the -art places have hosted global programs such as G20 summit, Bharatex, India mobility and startup Mahakumba.”

The minister listed several major government initiatives, including 20 new smart industrial cities, better tourism infrastructure in 50 destinations and 100 new industrial plug-and-play hubs.

He said, “If we go to the $ 30-35 trillion economy from $ 30-35 trillion today by 2047, every citizen should contribute to the Vikas India 2047,” he said.

He said that today India is breaking the Silo, promoting cooperation, and is re -preparing the future with the convergence of the mind. “The Vibrant Buildcon is only the beginning of the change of our construction ecosystem under one umbrella,” said Union Minister Goyal.

Greeting the gathering on the occasion of Baisakhi, the Union Minister spoke about the role of farmers during the Kovid -19 epidemic. He said that despite global disruptions, India ensured uninterrupted food distribution.

He said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, even during the peak of epidemic, India continued their mission to feed the poor and bring millions out of the absence.”
