Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the foundation for development projects worth Rs 13,000 crore in Gaya, Bihar. Projects cover areas including energy, healthcare, transport and urban development.
Addressing the gathering, Modi raised the greetings from Gaya and said, “Gaya ji’s spiritual and cultural heritage is both ancient and extremely rich.
Infrastructure and power projects
The Prime Minister inaugurated the 8.15 km aunt-Semaria bridge on NH-31, which included a 1.86 km six-lane bridge over the Ganges, built at a cost of 1,870 crores. Modi said, “This bridge will not only connect the roads, but will also connect North and South Bihar. Heavy vehicles, which had to first go around 150 kilometers through Gandhi Setu, will now be a straight route.”
He inaugurated the four-lane Bakhtiyarpur-Mokma section of NH-31, priced at 1,900 crores and 660 MW Buxar Thermal Power Plant is priced at ₹ 6,880 crore. He recalled the earlier foundation stone-linga for the Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project in Aurangabad and announced a new thermal plant for Pirpani in Bhagalpur.
On the railway, Modi said that Gaya station is being modernized under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi has been removed from a Buddhist circuit train between Vaishli and Koderma.
Modi criticized the previous governments, which he delayed and described as corruption, it was vice versa with current efforts to complete the projects rapidly. He said, “I laid the foundation stone for the Aunty -Semia section, and today I am inaugurating it myself,” he said.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was also present in the program along with other union and state ministers.
