Residents Affix Messages on Homes

People have plastered posters outside their homes, announcing that they were selling their homes. The posters read that the houses were for sale because of the proposed liquor shop in the neighbourhood. Locals are afraid that the spirit shop will pose a threat to the safety and security of the families in the neighbourhood, with particular concerns about the potential risk to women in the area.

According to a report by Jagran.com, locals said that the liquor shop has been set up along the Behta Hajipur canal, which is close to the residential colony. They fear that this will lead to a rise in anti-social activities. Residents also expressed concerns about the safety of women and girls who regularly use the Behta canal road. “With the liquor shop nearby, it will become difficult for our sisters and daughters to commute,” the report quoted a resident as saying.
